Eric Chong

Eric Chong is a seasoned senior executive, technologist and long time climate change advocate.

He served as President & CEO of Siemens Ltd. in Hong Kong & Macao since 2011 until early 2021. Focused on the areas of electrification, automation and digitalization, Mr Chong was leading the overall strategy for the company’s nine divisions, as well as driving infrastructure projects and sustainable solutions in the field of energy, healthcare, buildings, power distribution and industry for Hong Kong and Macao.

Established in 1847 in Germany, Siemens is a global technology powerhouse. The company is one of the world’s largest producers of energy-efficient technologies and is a pioneer in infrastructure solutions as well as automation, drive and software solutions for industry.

Mr Chong has been a member of the Board of Directors of Business Environment Council (BEC) and is serving as the Chair of Climate Change Business Forum, an advisory group under BEC dedicated to raising awareness of Climate Change among businesses. He was also member of the HKTDC Electronics / Electrical Appliances Industries Advisory Committee since 2015.

Mr Chong started his career in Singapore with GEC Plc of UK before joining Siemens in North East Asia region. He received his education in Singapore and Australia with degrees in Electronics Engineering and Business Administration. In addition, he holds a MBA from Henley Management College, UK.
