Ricky is best known as an Asian TV and content pioneer, an industry leader who championed award-winning and high-rating pan-regional Asian original entertainment productions. He has over 25 years of experience and spearheaded multiple highly relevant and successful multi-million dollar shows such as The Apprentice or the Amazing Race in Asia. The latter was International Emmy 2009 nominee for “Non-Scripted Entertainment”. His vast experience includes investing in new IP, developing new markets, launching local channel and scaling non-traditional revenue source.
Ricky was previously the President of WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks, Asia Pacific, where he had executive oversight of all the company’s businesses, including distribution, syndication, consumer product licensing, advertising, theme park, and gaming in the Asia Pacific region. He served at Turner/Warner from 2013 to 2020. Before that he spent 14 years at Sony Pictures, where his last role was Executive Vice President & General Manager for Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks Asia. Prior to joining SPT, Ricky held positions at SBC Enterprises (now Mediacorp TV), Asia Business News, and CNBC.
Currently, Ricky is a Board Member of IMDA in Singapore and partner of various funds and platforms supporting early-stage companies to grow and scale internationally. Additionally, Ricky serves as the President of Kasagi Labo (Prevously Anime Metaverse),that focuses on building a portfolio of anime IP and delivering a unique fan journey, engagement, and monetization strategy.
Ow is a strong believer in giving back to the community and has been recognized for his contributions to his alma mater, the National University of Singapore. Ricky was also the honorary chairman of the Asian Academy Creative Awards in 2018 and 2019. He has also served on the board of directors for the Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA formerly known as CASBAA) from 2015 to 2019.
